North Central Baptist Hospital and San Antonio AirLIFE, 2008 Texas’ EMS Air Medical Service of the year, announced that a helicopter will be based at the hospital effective September 1st. Twenty percent population growth in the region, traffic concerns and an increase in the number of trauma in areas like Bulverde, Spring Branch, Canyon Lake and Blanco were all considerations behind the move.

North Central Baptist Hospital used Induced Hypothermia on 49 year old patient, Melissa Wallis who suffered a massive heart attack. David Marks, M.D. explains how this treatment is being used to stop brain damage in patients.

Northeast Baptist Hospital was honored by the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center during their Donor Awareness Ceremony. Northeast Baptist has added 34 tissue donors since 2004 and has transplanted 958 pieces of allograft tissue.
